Joshua J. Bovill

I believe our stories can and will transform education!

Joshua Bovill's journey from a challenging childhood to becoming a humble generational leader and influential public figure reflects a remarkable story of resilience and service. Raised in a single-parent household on the southside of Greenwood, SC, Josh faced early adversity, exemplified by an incident where he heroically saved his brother from a gunshot, shaping his persistence and solutions-centered thinking.

After overcoming skepticism and personal setbacks, Josh graduated from Coastal Carolina University and embarked on a career in education. His passion for making a difference led him from being a teacher to becoming the first African American Athletic Director in his school's history. Recently, he transitioned into the role of Dean of Student Leadership, where he humbly works with students to impart social and leadership skills, guiding them toward success in life and school. In this role, he also selflessly coaches teachers on effective classroom management strategies.

Devoted to community impact, Josh co-founded The Write Way Foundation to address the literacy gap for African American youth. His authored works, including "The Write Way to Heal," reflect his commitment to uplifting others. Currently, he anticipates the release of his upcoming book, "The Ultimate Guide to Teaching and Reaching Black Boys," a testament to his dedication to empowering educators and positively impacting the lives of young black males. As a thought leader and catalyst for change, Joshua J. Bovill, now a devoted husband, father, and servant of Christ, remains committed to inspiring current and future leaders with humility and dedication.
